Winona State University

Housing and Residence Life at Winona State University
At Winona State University we house approximately 2500 students in four residential complexes.

The Hall Directors, 5 positions in total, are a key aspect of the residential component of our student's college experience. Directly and indirectly, the people in these positions have a major impact on the lives of our students.

About the University:
WSU is home to approximately 7500 students on the Winona campus in a "college town" (2 other institutions) of 26000. We are located in the beautiful bluff country of the upper Mississippi River Valley and primarily serve a traditional student age population.

For the seventh time in seven years, in 2003 Winona State University was named in the book, America's 100 Best College Buys, (1997-2003 John Culler and Sons, Camden, S.C.).

Winona State University has been noted in several nationally-released books on quality in higher education, including Smart Parents Guide to College, by Boyer and Boyer (1996, Peterson's, Princeton, N.J.), and Indicators of Good Practice in Undergraduate Education (1996, The National Center for Higher Education Management Systems).

The Mission of Winona State University
To educate and enlighten our citizenry at a distinctive institution: a community of learners dedicated to improving our world.

As part of this mission, our department has a strong commitment to facilitating the development and training of our staff and hall council members. This training and support allow our leaders to provide the best service, knowledge and opportunities to our residents. We have a serious commitment to your development as well as that of our students and we believe in making investments in your success - which in turn becomes the success of our department and helps our students.

At Winona State University, we are in the fortunate position of having all of our spaces occupied.  Our Residential College at Lourdes Hall is a national leader and we are always looking for better ways to make all of our halls true "living-learning centers."

Being among the best Residence Life programs in the country is what we are striving for at WSU. If being a part of a team that is constantly seeking to provide our students with the best leadership and developmental opportunities as well as excellent service sounds good - then we may have the job for you!
