BRIEF
STATEMENT OF THOSE ISSUES YOU WOULD SEEK TO ADDRESS IF ELECTED TO
OFFICE:
My goal
is to improve the professional lives and working conditions of faculty. I

governance of the University and by working to enforce the IFO-MnSCU Master
Agreement, and to represent faculty efforts to improve the contract toward the betterment
of all IFO members.

BRIEF
STATEMENT OF THOSE ISSUES YOU WOULD SEEK TO ADDRESS IF ELECTED TO OFFICE:
It is
important to me that faculty are engaged in the shared governance of the
university and that we, as a union, preserve and strengthen the academic
programs of the university. I also believe it is essential that we are vigilant
in our efforts to build external support with the legislature and to more
effectively prevent MnSCU or anyone else from imposing constraints on the
university that weaken the campus’s ability to provide high quality
academic programs.
I will
continue to support competitive salaries, more probationary tenure track
positions, and fair health and retirement benefits under the contract.

BRIEF STATEMENT OF THOSE ISSUES YOU WOULD SEEK TO ADDRESS IF ELECTED TO
OFFICE:
My current and past term as Board Member have been very
informative: I have deepened my understanding of the contract, the negotiations
process, the Meet and Confer process, the grievance process as well as my understanding
of MNSCU as a system. I have served on the State IFO Treasureršs Advisory
Committee for 4 years, the Board Liaison to the State IFO Feminist Issues
Committee for 4 years, and the Board Liaison to the GLBTA committee since fall
2010. I would continue to serve in those
positions if re-elected to the Board, and I would seek fair and viable
solutions to the MNSCU budget crisis on State and local levels, which will
surely continue to be the biggest challenge for the Board over the next two
years.
