The committee found that this combination was present on a number of other campuses, and that women filled most of these positions. Faculty Senate referred this issue to the State IFO Board.

Mark Engen and Bill Ng will represent Faculty Senate. Several other Senators will be present at the IFO table.

6. Email addresses
Faculty Senate instructed D. Bratt to ask Information Technology Services to send out a memo describing which Email addresses we will be using and when old addresses will end.
IT Comments: The official Email address is: first letter of first name, last name @winona.edu. IT would prefer to take out all old addresses now and refers this back to Senate.
7. Employee directory
Faculty Senate instructed D. Bratt to ask about the format of the current Employee Directory and also ask if it could be sent out earlier.
Administration Comments:
It is difficult to get the directory out earlier in the year because some Faculty/Staff do not want their phone numbers published, and this must be checked out. The format of the current directory relates to the need to get the directory out; was not time to print a different version.
8. IFO ‘Professional Quality Improvement’ proposal
Faculty Senate presented an explanation of the IFO Negotiating Team’s Reduced Teaching Load Proposal.
Administration Comments:
Item One: The cost of hiring additional faculty would be more than the 5% and
5% offer.Item Two: Administration does not agree with the calculations presented in this
item.Item Three: If overload is used the cost would be 12.5%.
Item Four: Administration does not agree that our teaching load is higher than at
peer InstitutionsItem Five: Administration does not expect additional funding.
9. Transfer courses, General Education, and majors (information)
Faculty Senate directed D. Bratt to express our concern about acceptance of some MnSCU Transfer Curriculum courses into majors; specifically who decides whether the course(s) will be accepted as fulfilling a requirement in a particular MAJOR at the university.
Administration Comments:
Administration also expressed concern over this issue.

Administration presented promotional materials: BUILDING PROPOSAL 2002, Winona State University and Minnesota State University Moorhead. Will be used for positioning WSU in the marketplace and for promotional efforts in Rochester.
