New Faculty & Staff Laptop Distributions
Below lists the procedures to go through to receive a laptop for new employees. Faculty and staff will have the choice of Mac, PC or tablet PC. See the list of laptop models.
New Adjunct Faculty
Adjunct faculty or office manager will need to fill out form for approval to receive a laptop. This form must be approved by the Dean/Chair of the department. Submit the form to the Technical Support Center, Somsen 207. Once TSC has received the approval form for the laptop, the new faculty member then needs to schedule to attend one of the laptop distribution sessions. These sessions are scheduled every week until school starts, they last approximately 90 minutes and are held in Somsen 207. Call 5240 option #1 to schedule the appointment.
New Full-Time Faculty
All full-time faculty are automatically approved to receive a laptop. Once their contract is signed, Faculty will need to contact Technical Support Center (TSC) to enroll in the next new faculty laptop distribution session to get their laptop. These sessions are scheduled every week until school starts, they last approximately 90 minutes and are held in Somsen 207. Call 5240 option #1 to schedule the appointment.
Not all staff will receive a laptop, some departments use desktop computers. If your department does use laptops, fill out the following form for approval to receive a laptop. Submit the form to the Technical Support Center, Somsen 207. Once TSC receives the form, you will receive an email to contact Teaching, Learning & Technology (TLT) to setup a time to pick up your laptop at TLT. Sessions take approximately 1 hour.
Faculty or Staff Laptop Exchanges
As of summer of 2010, faculty and staff will exchange their laptops every three years. You will be notified when your laptop is ready to be exchanged. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact the TSC or TLT.
