Information Technology Requests

Information Technology Services (ITS) has a defined process to intake institutional project requests. This process allows ITS to centralize and track all requests for new systems or infrastructure and web development, including requests to create a new web presence, or redesign an existing web presence.  Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully, and then click on the link at the bottom of the page to access and complete the online request form.  If you have questions on the process or about filling out the form, please contact the Technical Support Center at 507.457.5240 or techsupport@winona.edu.

IT Request Terms & Conditions

1. This project request process should not be used for routine work orders.   If you are having Issues with your computer, printer, or network (wireless or wired), or need help editing a web page, please contact the Technical Support Center in Somsen 207 at techsupport@winona.edu, or 507.457.5240.

2. By submitting a request to Information Technology Services (ITS), you are agreeing to commit the time necessary to ensure successful completion of your project.  Failure to dedicate the necessary resources and time will put your project in jeopardy of being deferred or denied

3. All requests must be approved by a Project Sponsor, generally your Department Head or Chair, and will be submitted to ITS upon this approval.

4. All requests will be reviewed by Information Technology Services within 5-15 business days of submission.  You will be notified upon review the status of your request.

5. Once reviewed by Information Technology Services Leadership, you will be notified of the status of your request.  All requests will receive a status as listed below:

• Approved:  The IT project request you submitted has been approved.  You will be contacted within two business days by the Project Manager to initiate the next steps in the project process.  Should you have questions or changes in the meantime, please contact the Technical Support Center at 507.457.5240 or at techsupport@winona.edu.

• Deferred:  The IT project request you submitted has been approved; however, Information Technology Services will not be able to dedicate resources to your project at this time.   You will be contacted within two business days by the project manager to discuss where your project falls within their queue.  As your project’s start date comes closer, the project manager will again contact you to initiate the next steps in the project process.  Should you have questions or changes in the meantime, please contact the Technical Support Center at 507.457.5240 or techsupport@winona.edu.

• Denied:  The IT project request you submitted has been denied.  A Project Manager, or Director from Information Technology Services, will be in touch with you within two business days to discuss the reason for the denial.  If you have questions in the meantime, please contact the Technical Support Center at 507.457.5240 or techsupport@winona.edu.

• Sent to AUTC:  The IT project request you submitted is projected to take more than 80 staff hours to complete or has a projected budget of over $25,000.  It will be sent to the All-University Technology Committee (AUTC) for review.   The AUTC only reviews IT project requests at the beginning of each term:  fall, spring and summer.  Upon review by the AUTC, you will receive notification informing you of the status of your request.  Should you have questions or changes in the meantime, please contact the Technical Support Center at 507.457.5240 or techsupport@winona.edu.

Faculty and staff can request a project for the Information Technology Department.
