Vision:

Information Technology Services (ITS) endeavors to position the University as a national leader in the innovative and effective use of technology to support the academic enterprise.

Welcome to Information Technology Services (ITS) web site.  Technology impacts nearly every aspect of our society. Providing the technology-based foundation to prepare graduates for the 21st century workplace is a core function of ITS.  ITS offers a broad range of technology support to the Winona State University community.  You can find a number of these services on the left hand navigation of this page.

ITS has eight goals for the 2008-2009 academic year. They include:

  • Enhance information technology’s role in student engagement and success.
  • Position information technology for the future by improving alignment of the organization and governance to the university’s institutional goals and academic mission.
  • Deliver world-class customer service to students, faculty, and staff in their use and application of technology.
  • Position the institution to recognize and understand the importance of data security, identity management, disaster recovery, and business continuity and begin to develop plans to address each of these areas.
  • Develop a plan to improve the e-connectedness of campus constituencies through the expansion, availability, effectiveness and efficiency of institutional services.
  • Improve communication within the ITS group as well as with the campus community on issues related to information technology.
  • Develop a plan to foster information technology’s role in community engagement.
  • Enhance information technology’s visibility and role on the Rochester campus.

If you have any technology-based problems or if you have technology questions that this web site does not address, contact the ITS Technical Support Center at (507) 457-5240—they will provide you with assistance on any of your information technology needs at Winona State University.
