Microsoft recently released the new Vista Operating System (replaces Windows XP).   Vista is currently available to the public and offers considerable changes in security and network connectivity.

Winona State has been testing Vista, researching industry trends and have consulted with other Universities regarding implementation.   Due to current compatibility issues and required network changes; we will not be ready for implementation of Vista at WSU for Fall semester.  Most other universities and colleges within MnSCU and elsewhere are also planning Vista rollouts sometime in 2008.  Our plans are to offer a pilot testing of Vista starting in January, 2008; with a probable implementation Fall, 2009.
