The Information Gallery hires student assistants based the following criteria,in order of importance:

• The availability to work hours not covered by existing student workers
• The customer service skills of the student
• The technical skills of the student
• The availabilty of funds in the Library budget and/or work study eligibility

IG student assistants generally work in the IG until they graduate, so each semester there are very few openings and many applicants.  Each application is evaluated according to the above criteria, and only when all the criteria are met are students asked to come in for interviews.
