What can I check out from the Information Gallery?

All IG items are offered on a first come, first served basis:

  • Laptops: Gateway or Apple
  • Network cables
  • Power supplies: Gateway or Apple
  • Headphones: for computer, media stations, and with microphones
  • Webcams: Logitech for PCs, iSight for Macs
  • Plasma screen televisions with DVD/VCR (for group use)
  • Connecting cables: USB 2.0 (regular and mini), FireWire 400 (4-6 pin and 6-6 pin)

 

What do I need to check out equipment?

A valid WSU ID card – no exceptions.  If you do not have an ID, we can make some
accommodations, such as letting you use a power supply or network cable while sitting
at the table in front of the IG desk.

 

How long can equipment be checked out?

Items are checked out for in-library use only and are due back to the IG help desk by
the time the library closes for the day.

Where can I print in color?

Color printing is available in Somsen 207 (the Technical Support office).  The cost of
color printing varies depending upon the amount of ink coverage on the page, and the
amount is billed to your student account.  Payment can be made in the business office
in Somsen.

 

What is my WSU username?

Your user name should be your first initial, followed by your full last name, and then
the last two digits of the year you were admitted.

Thus, if you are Steve Jobs and you enrolled in fall of 2007, your username would be:

Sjobs07@winona.edu
             
If you have a more common name, like John Smith, your user name may include a
middle initial or a portion of your first name.  If the above formula does not work,
call WSU Technical Support at 457-5240 to get your username.
   

What is my password?

Technical Support manages all network-related passwords.  If you have forgotten
yours, call 457-5240 to have the password reset.

If you are having trouble logging into a library database from off campus, please
call the Reference Desk at 457-5146 to have a library staff member check your
library account.
