I am the Interim University Librarian at Winona State University. During my career I have served as the Dean of the Library at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, College Librarian at Austin Colllege, and Director of Library Services at Eckerd College. I have a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from Indiana University-Bloomington, along with a M.S. in Education (Instructional Systems Technology) from the same institution. I have a Masters of Arts of Library Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a M.S. in Education (history) from Kearney State College. My B.A.in Education (history and political science) is from Kearney State College.

My professional interests include the library and first-year experience, computer and library relations, information literacy, and the role of the library in undergraduate education. In 1999-2000 I served as President of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL). In 2003, I served as Chair of the ACRL National Conference. In 2002, ACRL awarded me its Academic/Research Librarian of the Year.
