Photography & Digital Imaging

The Photography and Digital Imaging option is designed for students planning a career in any aspect of visual communication, including still and video photography and freelancing.

In addition to the department’s academic core classes and professional skills core classes, students in the Photography and Digital Imaging option take courses in the technical aspects of photography, photojournalism and documentary work, visual perception, studio photography and a senior lab. 

Students in Photography and Digital Imaging (formerly Photojournalism) have gone on to jobs with newspapers, magazines, websites and other media. Graduates have moved on to such careers as:

•    Multimedia directors
•    News/feature photographers
•    Studio/portrait photographers
•    TV camera operators
•    Freelancers
