New composition on the way!!!
The Winona State University Flute choir under the direction of Professor Zoe Shepherd will premier a new work of mine for the flute choir. The composition is titled "Whirligigs!" The work is a lively display of rollicking melodies including an energetic fugue in the middle. The work will be presented at the WSU Flute Choir concert on March 31. This concert will also include alumni flute players from years past.
April 21, 2007 R. Carlos Nakai, the world's leading authority and performer of the Native American flute will perform my "Gift to the People: Concerto for Native American Flute and Orchestra, op. 36. I will be conducting the Winona Symphony Orchestra. The concert is at 7:30. Tickets are now available at Hardt's Music in Winona.
