Karin Boyce, instructor of violin and viola, received the degree of BA in Music and German from Luther College in Decorah, IA and the MM in violin performance from the University of TX at Austin. Since 1998, Ms. Boyce has been on the string faculty at MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis, where she currently holds the positions of Crescendo for Strings Co-Coordinator (an examination/incentive program), Lead Access Site Teacher for the new MacPhail site in White Bear Lake, and Violin Coordinator for the MacPhail/Whittier piano and violin program, one of their longest-running school partnerships. In addition to these roles, Karin maintains a private studio of over 30 students, teaches violin classes and works with several other MacPhail Community Partnerships, as well as actively performing around the Twin Cities area, most frequently with her group, Sonori Colori. Ms. Boyce is a member of the American String Teachers Association and the National Federation of Music Clubs.
