Sharon Martin teaches applied flute and flute choir. She has been an active performer in the La Crosse community since 1984. She completed her Master's degree in music performance at UW Madison in 1997, where she studied with Stephanie Jutt. She has also studied with Janet Millard, former principal flutist of the Milwaukee Symphony, and has been a participant in masterclasses given by Julius Baker, Geoffrey Gilbert, Torkil Bye and James Galway. She played co-principal flute with the LaCrosse Symphony for many years, and was also a featured soloist with the LSO. She served on the faculty of Viterbo College from 1991 to 1998, where she taught applied flute and flute choir. She has maintained an active private studio in La Crosse, and has often been asked to coach local high school flute ensembles. She has also performed as a collaborative artist on many chamber concerts in the area.
