WSU Goes Green With Purple Bike Program
Story by: WSU Office of University Communication
WSU announces a free new resource for navigating the WSU campuses, the city of Winona and surrounding areas.
Now in its pilot phase, the WSU Purple Bike Rental Program has seven bikes available at no cost to current students and employees. A rental includes the following equipment: bike, helmet and cable lock with key.
Bikes will be distributed on a “first come, first served” basis for up to five hours at a time. Rental times start at 8 a.m. All equipment must be returned to the Student Resource Center Desk and bike lot location in the same condition it was issued before sunset.
Bikes are located outside Kryzsko Commons near the rear entrance to the Student Resource Center. Cable locks, keys and helmets are located at the Student Resource Center.
WSU is committed to focusing campus attention on sustainability and environmental issues, and to achieving climate neutrality. The Purple Bike Rental Program is one of the latest efforts working toward a greener university and community.
