WSU Receives Case V Award

Winona State University has received an award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for a recent television advertisement.

The 30-second commercial titled “What Can You Do?" received a Silver Award in the category of "Best Video PSA or Commercial Spot" in the prize of CASE V Awards 2007. The ad was produced by Vendi Advertising of La Crosse, Wis., and WSU project manager Brett Ayers.

The advertisement features student voices stating what they are able to accomplish as part of the Winona community and WSU student body. Included in the commercial are photographic scenes of WSU’s campus and the surrounding Mississippi River Valley to create a sense of connection and place with community members and future students. The objective of the commercial was to develop awareness of WSU among students and families in the region and establish a sense of pride among WSU alumni, partners and supporters.

WSU’s commercial went up against the district V schools, which include Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

CASE is an international association of education advancement professionals. The organization supports these professionals by offering information resources and training opportunities to help members advance the cause of education.
