Summer Family Outdoor Adventure Series

The Family Outdoor Adventure Series is a collection of outdoor based adventures tailored for families. No experience is necessary. All equipment included.

Participants can choose from registering for individual outings or register for the entire series at a discounted rate. Each event is $10 per person or $45 for the series (seven events).

The Mississippi River backwaters are a magical place. Join the OERC on a guided evening paddle appropriate for ages five and up. Trips launch out of Prairie Island at 5:30pm July 12 and July 18.
Experience Winona from a new perspective! The OERC will facilitate two evening rock climbing sessions on Sugarloaf this summer. All equipment and professional staff are included. Ages six and up. Trips meet up at Sugarloaf at 5:30pm July 11 and 19.
The Winona State University indoor climbing facility is one of the largest and best indoor facilities of any in the country. With 32 ropes, six auto belays, two bouldering walls, and over 6,000 sq. ft. of climbing surface there is truly something for everyone to enjoy. Join us Saturday mornings from 9 - 11am July 8, 15, and 22.

If you already know where to go and how to do it but just need the gear to get outside, the OERC has you covered. We offer a full selection of outdoor equipment ranging from canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, tents, sleeping bags, and much more all at extremely reasonable rates!

Rental center summer hours (beginning 6/9):
Fridays 3-6pm
Saturdays: 9am-1pm
Sundays: 3-6pm
Mondays: 3-6pm
