Victor I. Vieth
Alexandria , Virginia
I graduated from WSU in 1984. I then attended Hamline University School of Law and received a Juris Doctor degree in 1987. During law school I served as Editor-in-Chief of the Hamline Law Review and received the American Jurisprudence Award for achievement in the study of constitutional law.
I then returned and worked for one year as a law clerk to the Honorable Lawrence T. Collins. Since 1988, I have worked as a prosecutor serving Watonwan and most recently Cottonwood County, Minnesota.
I developed a protocol for addressing child abuse in rural communities which has been nationally recognized for its success. I have published numerous articles and lecture frequently on child abuse issues. The Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association has named me one of the "21 Young Lawyers Leading Us Into the 21st Century".
I was recently hired to serve as a senior attorney for the National Center for the Prosecution of Child Abuse in Alexandria, Virginia. In this position, I am able to provide assistance to prosecutors around the country who desire to improve their investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases.
I encourage WSU students to take full advantage of the wisdom and experience of the WSU faculty and the many resources available at WSU
Best regards,
Victor I. Vieth
