So in what classroom is this class being held? Oh, it could be anywhere in the world.  That's what travel study is.  Faculty decide where in the world they want to hold their classes and take a small group of students for 2-8 weeks to engage in innovative learning, service learning, and research.  Students earn WSU credits.  The funding will be used to assist, encourage, facilitate, and market different travel study programs that faculty wish to undertake.

This project seeks to provide Academically-Related Work Experiences for students by improving and expanding the peer-tutoring/academic assistance program at WSU.  Expanding the Academic Assistance Center (AAC) staff to include fifteen additional academic assistants and developing new methods of providing academic assistance, including e-tutoring and supplemental instruction, would allow us to meet the tutoring needs of more students, including two populations that are not currently being served:  those enrolled in summer courses, and those enrolled at WSU-RC.  Academic assistants will roll in a 1-credit tutor training course that would lead to certification by the College Reading and Learning Association.  This project will directly benefit both the students chosen as academic assistants, and those students they serve.
