Expanding the Academic Assistance Center (AAC) staff to include fifteen additional academic assistants and developing new methods of providing academic assistance, including e-tutoring and supplemental instruction, would allow us to meet the tutoring needs of more students, including two populations that are not currently being served: those enrolled in summer courses, and those enrolled at WSU-RC. Academic assistants will roll in a 1-credit tutor training course that would lead to certification by the College Reading and Learning Association. This project will directly benefit both the students chosen as academic assistants, and those students they serve.
