Glen Johnson '60 and '64 (Lincoln, Neb.) received the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD) Presidential Award at its annual convention. AAHPERD is the largest organization of professionals supporting and assisting those involved in the achievement of a healthy lifestyle. Glen is a professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance at the University Nebraska-Lincoln. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Iowa, after earning his M.S. and B.S. degrees at WSU, where he was a campus leader and outstanding athlete. Throughout his career, Glen has served the profession as a master teacher, researcher, mentor and coach as well as in various leadership roles. He has authored over 130 publications and numerous book chapters. Glen has also been awarded the UNL Distinguished Teaching Award, WSU Distinguished Alumni Award, the Nebraska AHPERD Honor Award, and is a member of the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame. He is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and the AAHPERD Research Consortium.
Raymond Gunderson '69 (Sun City Center, Fla.) retired from the Miami-Dade County Public Schools after 37 years of teaching middle school math. He has received various awards teaching and math teaching awards, and was a Disney Creative Teacher nominee. Raymond hopes to visit Winona and old friends soon.
