Creative Expressions
Creativity is the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns, relationships, or the like, and to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods, and interpretations.  Create your experience with other expressive students in this living and learning community. 

 

All students choosing this topic will be required to take the 1 semester hour course.

RESC 201 Residential College Seminar:  Creative Expressions (1 S.H)                                    
This course is designed to explore the connections between various disciplines through activities outside of class and discussion.  This section will include assignments based on the topic of Creative Expressions.  This class partially satisfies the 128 semester hour requirement for graduation.

 

In addition to RESC 201, please sign up for at least one more course from the list below.

 

HUM 140- Approaches to Film (3 S.H.)
A general introduction to the art of the film with a focus on the non-technical aspect of the art.  Grade Only.  Offered each semester.  This class partially satisfies the WSU University Studies Humanities requirement.

 

RESC 143- Experience and Expressions:  The Re-enchantment of Art (3 S.H)
This course will explore the art and life of Andy Goldsworthy, who is an environmental sculptor.  Goldsworthy uses natural surroundings to create his art forms. He then uses the photograph as a form of documentation to capture the essence of his work. This class satisfies the WSU University Studies Fine and Performing Arts requirement.

 

ENG 222-  Introduction to Creative Writing (3 S.H.)
An introduction to writing poetry, fiction, and other creative genres (may include drama, screenwriting, or creative nonfiction). Covers basics of genre, style, and voice.  Grade only.  Offered yearly. This class satisfies the WSU University Studies Fine and Performing Arts requirement.
