Explorations:  Life’s Journey
College is an exploration of new ideas, concepts and information.  If you are ready for that journey, but not sure where it will take you, this living and learning community is exactly what you need.  Explore choices of major, career, and life in general and find the opportunities that await you.

All students choosing this topic will be required to take the 1 semester hour course .            

 

RESC 201 Residential College Seminar:  Explorations (1 S.H.) 
This course is designed to explore the connections between various disciplines through activities outside of class and discussion.  This section will include assignments based on the topic of Explorations.  This class partially satisfies the 128 semester hour requirement for graduation.

 

In addition to RESC 201, please sign up for at least one more course from the list below.

 

CMST 191 - Introduction to Public Speaking (3 S.H.)  
Includes selection and organization of materials, delivery of common types of speeches, listening skills, and analysis and evaluation of presentations.  Grade only.  Offered each semester.  This section will contain assignments related to the Explorations topic.  This class satisfies the WSU University Studies Oral Communication requirement.

 

CE 200 - Career/Life Decision Making (3 S.H.)
This course is designed to give students an opportunity to explore the skills, processes, and information necessary to become actively and responsibly involved in their own college program planning as well as their longer-term career and life planning.  P/NC only.   This class satisfies the WSU University Studies Contemporary Citizenship/Democratic Institutions requirement.

 

ENG 111- College Reading and Writing (4 S.H.)
Writing based on reading, interpreting, analyzing, critiquing, and synthesizing texts; writing as a means of expression, learning, and critical inquiry. Grade only. This section will contain assignments related to the topics in the Explorations Living and Learning Community.  This class satisfies the WSU University Studies Reading and Writing requirement.
