Residential College

Directors’ Coffee –You are invited to a weekly Directors’ Coffee jointly hosted by the Hall Directors and the Residential College Director. Come out every Tuesday from 4pm – 5pm in the south lounge for food and socializing.

Fall Banquet- This year the Fall Banquet is Thursday, August 21 in the Lourdes Café. This major annual event during welcome week is a formal dinner in the café with special guest entertainment to kick off the year. Everyone is welcome!

West Fest- This “wild west” annual event is the perfect end to a “wild” year. Held at the end of April this party usually hosts a riding bull, mock tails and many friendly competitions. West Fest is planned by the House Council.

House Dinners- Once per semester each House has a special dinner just for members of that House. This dinner is planned by the Residential College staff and members of the House committee. This dinner may feature entertainment, announcements, or House traditions.

House Activities- Each House will host events planned by the House Committee and the RAs to provide opportunities for students to get to know each other and have fun.

Societies
Debating Society- Interested in debate, love a friendly exchange of words and ideas, and then join the Debating Society. Monthly meetings are planned to learn the basics of debate and engage in friendly discourse. The mentor is Dr. David Urion a professor of Math and Statistics.

Singing Society- A society for those who love to sing, but not necessarily have the pressure of frequent performance. This group gets together monthly to learn songs and sing together. The Residential College Director, Dr. Ron Elcombe, is the conductor.

Residential College (West Campus) Government
The government at West Campus is based in the House System. Each House (100+ members) elects a House Committee. This 5 member committee plans events for the House and is the House’s representatives to the Residential College House Council.
The Residential College House Council is made up of all the individual House Committees (35 members). One member from each of the 7 houses is appointed to the Executive Board of the Residential College House Council. These 7 students are the West Campus’ representatives to the Residence Hall Association.
