West Campus A Living and Learning Experience
Experience West Campus where your living environment is enhanced by experiential learning opportunities that create a vibrant community of learners. Through the West Campus Residential Houses, House Interest Communities and other activities, you can connect to students, your community and faculty in order to make a difference at Winona State.
West Campus is located on a beautiful section of campus and features old World architecture and charm. Student living in the West Campus Residence Halls belong to one of seven houses. The House System follows those of Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard Universities by organizing residents into houses that provide structure for activities, competition and camaraderie. Our houses are named after constellations that have a connection to the river, honoring Winona State’s connection and proximity to the Mississippi River. Each Residential House has its own House Interest Community.
Experience a dynamic, experiential learning opportunity in your residence hall community by participating in one of one of our West Campus House Interest Communities. These communities are a small group (15-20) of students who want to focus on a topic in depth with a faculty instructor to guide the way. Together the students and faculty instructor participate in specialized activities in and out of the classroom, then bring what they have learned and experienced to the other members of their Residential House and the Campus Community.
A $200 activity fee is charged to all students who live on West Campus, which supports the House programs, House Interest Communities and Mugshots Coffeehouse.
