WINONA, Minn. (WSU-UC) – Winona State University’s Outreach and Continuing Education Department will offer the course “Cyber Work: Advantages and Challenges of Computer Based Employment” from 4-10 p.m. Friday, April 24, and from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at WSU-Rochester, rooms CF 206 and 208.

The noncredit workshop is designed to give participants an opportunity to experience the impact and influence of technology on education and curriculum delivery, as well as on the workforce. The course will outline tips on working from home, self-care strategies and wellness, common ethical and legal issues, communication etiquette, and the benefits and challenges of professional practice.

The workshop will include powerpoint presentations, film clips, self-care exercises, learning through humor, small group activities, lecture and discussion.

Participants must attend both sessions to be eligible to earn the 13 continuing education contract hours upon successful completion of the workshop.

The instructors for the course are virtual school counselors Carla Anderson-Diekmann and Misun Bormann, who work at BlueSky Online Charter School.

The class costs $150.

It is open to the public.

There is no registration deadline, but early registration is encouraged due to limited class space.
