Subject: WSU Offers Adult “Scrubs” Camp
 
WINONA, Minn. (WSU-R) – Winona State University will offer Adult Scrubs Camp from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, May 18-20, at the Health Science Building, University Center Rochester.

The camp will feature more than 15 hands-on workshops, along with skill-building exercises, professional networking and information about careers in healthcare.  Participants will have the opportunity to advance their expertise by using career seeking tools on iSEEK, completing skill and career interest testing, strengthening their knowledge in anatomy and physiology, and building necessary interpersonal skills for a healthcare setting.

Information will be available for technical careers; clinical laboratory science; clinical research study coordinators; nursing; food sciences and dietary services; pharmacy; transport and first responders; dental assistants, hygienists and office personnel; healthcare for animals; rehabilitative services; radiology and cardiovascular services; and surgical technologists.

“Scrubs Camp is a remarkable opportunity that allows adults to try on a wide array of health occupations, connect with local college faculty and explore their next career options with experts in workforce development,” said Jane Foote, the executive director for Healthforce Minnesota.

The camp is free and open to the public, ages 18 and older.

There is no registration deadline, but space is limited and early registration is encouraged.

Scrubs Camp is sponsored by WSU; Healthforce Minnesota; Rochester Community Technical College; and Workforce Development, Inc.
