Training is a crucial component of an effective safety program. The Environmental Health & Safety
Department conducts new employee, annual, and periodic refresher training with
numerous groups on campus and is responsible for maintaining documentation of
this training. The EHS Department also assists in the coordination of
training provided by off-campus organizations on an as-needed basis. Additional
safety training is conducted within departments, under the direction of
departmental supervisors. If you are interested in safety training of any kind,
or would like assistance in developing training programs, please contact the EHS Department.
WSU will be integrating our campus safety training activities into the State of Minnesota’s Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) System. Training will be provided online utilizing Comprehensive Loss Management Inc. (CLMI) training materials and will be tracked and documented through ELM. This change in process is projected to begin in January 2017. Information regarding curriculum assignments and how to access the training materials will be communicated to employees as the transition progresses.
