The Homecoming Parade is one of the biggest highlights of Homecoming Week and is a great opportunity to show your club, organization or residence hall's involvement within the WSU and Winona communities. We ask that you incorporate the ISLAND CITY LUAU theme into your parade entry to demonstrate creativity and energy. Remember: Your float is a direct representation of your image and what you are portraying about your group. Have fun with it, but be smart!
Regulations for Parade Entries
Judging will be based primarily on originality and connection with the ISLAND CITY LUAU theme. There will be cash prizes for the top three entries created by on-campus clubs, organizations, or residence halls. Prize money will be deposited into the winners' university accounts.
Zero Tolerance Policy
In accordance with municipal laws, there is a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for alcohol during the parade. There will be no alcoholic beverages allowed on any of the parade entries. Any representation of alcohol, written or insinuated, is prohibited. Anyone found in violation of this policy will be subject to removal from the parade and legal action taken by the police. The Winona Police Department will be patrolling the parade route.
