Winona State University Security Winona State University Security is responsible for the physical security of all residence halls and academic buildings throughout the University. Campus Security employs approximately 60 students to perform security related duties. Security provides 24-hour patrol coverage if the campus to include foot, bicycle. and motorized patrols. Security personnel attend required training prior to the school year that includes patrol tactics, crime prevention. community policing, first aid, self-defense, and more. Winona State University Security is located in the main floor of Sheehan Hall, 264 W. Mark Street, Winona, MN 55987, and phone: 507-457-5555. Communications personnel are responsible for receiving and dispatching calls, monitoring surveillance cameras, distribution of crime prevention materials, and assisting the campus community with their needs. Members of Winona State University Security provide on-site security in all residence halls during specified times. In addition, the Winona Police Department patrols and responds to calls on campus 24 hours a day throughout the year. Message From the Director Winona State University Security is charged with the responsibility of protecting life and property in a manner that will provide the safest possible learning environment for those we serve. This service is rendered with creativity, compassion, and competence through the understanding of the needs, values and goals of our community. All members of Winona State University Security commit themselves to putting forth their best efforts to continually expand their knowledge and abilities in order to enhance departmental professionalism, and thus the quality of life, study and work for the academic community of Winona State University. The Director of Security is a 25 year law enforcement veteran and has supervised the administrative, investigative, and patrol divisions of the Winona Police Department. He is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy, Winona State University and numerous law enforcement schools. Winona State
