Jessica is a PhD candidate in sociology at the University of New Hampshire and a research assistant at the Carsey Institute. She is in the process of finishing her dissertation that examines the linkages between natural amenities, migration, and community change. Her areas of interest include community and environment, stratification, rural sociology, poverty, and family, among other topics. Jessica is teaching SOC 212 (Sociology of Families) and SOC 435 (Advanced Topics in Family Sociology) at WSU this year.
