Scholarships - Sociology and WSU
The faculty is pleased to have several excellent scholarships within the Sociology/Criminal Justice Department that are awarded on a competitive basis. We strongly encourage B. A. Sociology majors who meet the requirements for the various scholarships to apply. For further information, please inquire in the Sociology Department office (Minné 228).

A number of other scholarships within the College of Liberal Arts and the University are also available. For information on scholarships in Liberal Arts, please contact the Dean of Liberal Arts (Minné 206). Inquiries may also be made to the University Relations and Development office (Somsen 210) for information on other scholarships offered through WSU.

A few examples of scholarships that are available yearly are as follows:
1)  Ervin G. Bublitz Scholarship- Must be a full-time junior or senior B. A. Sociology major with a G. P. A. of 2.5 or above.

2)  Larry D. Connell Scholarship- Must be full-time junior and complete senior year at WSU.  Must be a declared Sociology or Criminal Justice major with a G. P. A. of 2.5 or above.

3)  James R. and Nancy M. Reynolds Scholarship- Must be full-time sophomore or junior with a declared major in the B. A. Sociology program.  Students must have a G. P. A. of 3.0 in Sociology course work and a minimum cumulative G. P. A. of 2.5.

4)  Windsor Financial Group Scholarship (minority students preferred)-Must be a full time junior or senior at WSU majoring in B.A. Sociology, or B.S. Sociology: Criminal Justice. Students must have a G.P.A. of 2.5.

SCHOLARSHIPS WITHIN THE COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS

1)  Richard Coughlin Scholarship (one award)- Open to all liberal arts majors with a 3.5 or above G. P. A.

2)  Gordon Elliott Scholarship (one award)- Open to all liberal arts majors.

3)  Jessie Kaiser Scholarship (one award)- Must be a junior or senior with a 3.75 or above G. P. A.  All liberal arts majors are welcome to apply.

4)  Karen Sweetland Scholarship (one award)- Must be junior or senior with a 3.75 G. P. A. or above.  All liberal arts majors may apply.

5)  Wilson Scholarship (one award)- Must have a 3.0 G. P. A. or above.  All liberal arts majors may apply.
