So, you are interested in the Sport Management program at WSU. That’s great. We understand that this might raise a lot of questions. Here is some information to help you.
Masters vs. Certificate… What is the Difference?
If you are interested in Sport Management you have several options:
You can simply take 18 credits of Sport Management courses and earn a certificate or you can enroll in the Education Leadership Master of Science program and select Sport Management as your emphasis. You will have to take 18 credits of Sport Management classes, as well as the Education Leadership core classes.
Do I have to do both, the Masters and the Certificate?
No. It is up to you whether you want to do both or simply one or the other. If you wish to earn a certificate you will only enroll in the Sport Management courses. If you choose to do the masters program you will enroll in both, Sport Management and Education Leadership courses.
Are all courses online?
All Sport Management courses are online and can be taken from remote locations. Therefore, it is possible to earn the Certificate in Sport Management from anywhere in the country. However, if you are looking into receiving a Masters Degree in Education Leadership with the Sport Management Emphasis, you will have to attend classes on either the WSU Main or WSU Rochester Campus, as most Education Leadership classes are taught face-to-face or through Interactive Television (ITV).
