Position:
Tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Statistics
starting Fall 2009 in the
Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Starting salary is
commensurate with rank and experience.
Responsibilities:
Primary duty is to teach a wide variety of undergraduate statistics
courses.
Duties may also include teaching master’s or doctorate level service
courses. Possibilities exist for a reduction in teaching load through
significant collaborative work with regional industries and/or medical
facilities. Research is encouraged as part of a faculty member's overall
scholarly and creative activity. Active participation in departmental and
university efforts including committee work and student advising is
required.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in
Statistics or Biostatistics with an anticipated completion date by August

The statistics program at Winona State University has achieved a national
reputation for excellence. Students have
recently completed internships at the Census Bureau, Mayo Clinic,
Gundersen Lutheran and other industries. A large percentage of
graduates have pursued graduate study. The Department of Mathematics and
Statistics has
23 full-time faculty members including 7
statistics faculty. The department offers majors and minors in
statistics, mathematics, and mathematics education. The statistics
curriculum includes 21
