Listing of general information about the Union. Information includes hours, directions, union staff and services.
The Hub of the Student Union is the Student Activities Center. The facility encompasses everything from places to eat, study, meet, or just hang out. The Jack Kane Dining Center is located on the upper level of the building. Conference rooms and private dining halls are available for students to hold meetings and informal gatherings. The Student Activities Center is located on the lower level of the building below the Jack Kane Dining Center. The Activities Center is home to student lounges, a conference room, a club activities room, student senate offices, a Greek life office, a stage and dance floor, and numerous PC hookups. The Smaug Dining Center, which is on the lower level on the opposite end of the building, is an alternative to the Jack Kane Dining Center and features fast food style options. Some of the restaurant choices in the Smaug include Sub Generation, Tuscan Oven, The Grille, and Coyote Jacks. Across from the Smaug is the Cafe Kyzsko, which offers a convenience store along with a coffee corner and an ice cream and smoothie shop. The Winona State University Book Store is also located in the Student Union.
Cultural Clubs Celebration in the Student Activities Center, Kryzsko Commons
The Student Union Director and Assistant Director advise and work with student committees in the Student Activities Center to coordinate social, cultural and recreational programs. Activities include movies, dances, guest speakers, concerts, river excursions, banquets, exhibits, and other special events.
Winona State University is please to say that we have over 190 clubs and organizations, which are represent by ASO, the Alliance of Student Organizations, which is the tie between all the different clubs. The clubs represent a variety of academic, athletic, social, political, cultural and religious backgrounds.
