Taiwan's society is known throughout the world for its sincere hospitality and diverse cultural cuisine. There are many advantages to learn about Taiwan's culture and the arts, such as glove puppetry, Taiwanese opera, theatre and dance.

Professional teachers who are native speakers of standard Mandarin guide every student's development and take a sincere interest in each person's individual learner's growth.  The program provides orientation, field trips and social activities to encourage communication with Chinese students and to develop a wider comprehension of Chinese culutre.

A 4-hour local tour is arranged each week, such as Taipei City tour, trip to Beitou, trip to West Gate District, and Tamsui Monument visits.

Students that go through WSU's Taiwan program will study at the campus of Tamsui and have the chance to visit the four other campuses of Tamkang University including Taipei, Lanyang, and the Cyber campus.

 

Tamsui Campus-The City of Intellect

The development of the Tamsui Campus will be directed toward an extensive research university, one that will “create knowledge.”  By means of "knowledge instruction", "knowledge application", challenge frontier research, and creating outstanding research production, the Tamsui Campus will become a “City of Intellect” which possesses invaluable academy and high reputation.

 

Taipei Campus-The Sea of Knowledge Navigator

The Taipei Campus is aimed at developing technological education and lifelong education. The College of Technology provides students with technological education; the instruction is practical-oriented and emphasizes professional theory and practice, in order to cultivate professionals with specialization and experience.

Lanyang Campus-The Garden of Wisdom
Lanyang Campus, the 40-acre development, is situated on Mt. Linmei, Chiao-his, in I-lan County. Over 90 per cent of its classes are taught in English, and all students must go abroad to study in their Junior Year. The campus is based upon a traditional residential collegiate system accommodating all students and faculty, which facilitates pastoral care and a holistic education. The Lanyang Campus has started recruiting students since 2005.
Cyber Campus-The Space of Knowledge Explorer
The Cyber Campus creates a learning environment that reaches out everywhere by establishing base stations at the Tamsui, Taipei and Lanyang campuses, and with the Earth as its home, and electronic technology and information network as its avenue. Therefore, every learner at the Cyber Campus can acquire knowledge, experience and wisdom anytime and anywhere, sharing the abundant and various learning resources, and fulfill the dream of receiving a lifelong education.
