Classes at MIU correspond directly with WSU Global Studies Classes and Chinese Language Courses.

The Tamkang program is designed for international students who study Chinese as a second language.

Two basic Chinese language courses are designed for WSU students.

  • Chinese Mandarin Conversation-2 credits
  • Chinese Reading and Writing-2 credits

WSU students are also allowed to take any regular course, either in Chinese or in English, at Tamsui campus and get the credits & grades.  See the following link for related classes:       Tamkang University Courses     

A placement test will be conducted on the first day of school; the test includes four parts:  Listening, speaking, reading and writing.

The three levels of placement focus on different aspects of the Chinese language.

Culture lessons touch on several aspects of Chinese culture, such as folk dance, Chinese Kung-Fu, traditional Chinese painting, Chinese knotting, Chinese calligraphy, etc.
