The opportunities to receive aid to study abroad are all around. It is up to you to take the initiative to find them and apply. Several options that may apply to your situation are offered below. Note: Study abroad applications MUST be submitted to the International Programs office at WSU for students who apply for any scholarship that needs WSU's verification. Until you do so, this office cannot verify your scholarship application.

Below is a list of possible scholarships and grants for study abroad students. There are many more so it is recommended to search the online for further possibilities. WSU financial aid usually increases for study abroad students so schedule an appointment with the financial aid office for further options.


Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program

The Gilman Scholarship Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the Institute of International Education’s Southern Regional Center in Houston, TX. The Gilman Scholarship Program is celebrating 10 years of helping nearly 9,700 Gilman Scholars study abroad and during the academic year over 2,300 scholarships will be awarded!
