Generations Connect - Individual Coaching and Mentoring

Generations Connect is a collaborative mentoring and coaching program between the Retiree Center and the Advising/Tutoring Services Department.  This program is open to all Winona State retirees and all currently enrolled WSU students.  It is designed to facilitate learning and support students through either a coaching or mentoring experience.  Retirees (coaches and mentors) will meet with students at mutually agreed upon times in mutually agreed upon places, which can be on or off campus.

Retirees – Become a Coach or Mentor

Coaching is task related, academically focused and short term, with specific goals related to study skills, time management or other similar issues.
Mentoring is relationship based and may be longer-term. Mentors share knowledge and wisdom with students, helping them connect to Winona State and make the most of their college experience.
Training for both coaching and mentoring is provided and is free.
If you are interested, please fill out and return an interest form.  Submitting an interest form does not obligate you to participate in the program. Retiree Interest Form

Students – Work with a Coach or Mentor

If you would like help with study habits, time management or setting academic goals, working with a coach may be the answer.  If you want someone to talk to about life at Winona State, a mentor may be the answer.  We will match you with a WSU retiree coach or mentor based on your interests and needs.  For more information please submit the interest form.  Submitting an interest form does not obligate you to participate in the program. Student Interest Form
