Video Tutorial on using TutorTrac to find a tutor
We have a new scheduling web page called TutorTrac.
Please take a minute to read this information or use the quick start links above to jump to the information you need.
If you have general questions about our services, we encourage you to visit the Tutoring FAQ page
Types of Tutoring Available
We offer three types of tutoring, Drop-In, Group, and Individual. All three types will show up on the schedule, so take note whether there is a "D" "G" or "I" after the tutoring time.
Drop-in appointments are convenient because can just show up at the time and location listed and a tutor will be there to help. The tutor may be helping several students or groups of students from different classes at the same time.
Group appointments have a limited number of participants and focus on one particular class. You do need to sign up for a group session by clicking on the time and following the on-screen prompts.
If you want an Individual appointment to work one-on-one with a tutor, you need to make an appointment by choosing one of the listings followed by an "I" and clicking on the time and following the on-screen prompts.
Hints for Using TutorTrac
Here are some hints for using the scheduling software.
- After clicking on the class you want tutoring in, be sure to hit the submit button on the top left of the screen.
- The schedule shows up at the bottom of the page and may not be visible, so be sure to scroll down.
- If no times appear, it is possible we only have Individual tutoring for that course and all the appointments are full. Expand your search by changing the "Available from and To" dates. If there are still no times appearing, contact us to let us know and we will see if there is funding available to increase the hours available. You should also check out SMARTHINKING Online Tutoring--we may have online tutoring available for that subject.
Choosing a Web Browser
Internet Explorer is the preferred web browser for this page. Students using Firefox may occasionally experience problems.
Requesting Tutoring
If you want Tutoring in a course that isn't listed, please contact us. It is possible we already have someone on staff who can help you, or if we deem there is enough demand for a new subject and our budget allow we will recruit additional tutors. You should also check out SMARTHINKING Online Tutoring--we may have online tutoring available for that subject.
Tutoring Locations
Tutoring is offered at five different locations on Main Campus, and one location on West Campus. Please be sure to note the location for the tutoring session you plan to attend.
Contact Us
The Tutoring Services staff will be glad to answer any questions you may have. Please email us or click on "Contact Us" on the left side of the screen for more options.
Using TutorTrac off campus
If you are off campus you will need to use VPN to use TutorTrac--don't worry, it's really easy!
