How to Apply - Pre-Licensure Major
Applications are now available for the Undergraduate Pre-Licensure Nursing program (Generic option) for Spring 2018. Applications are due by Oct. 2, 2017.
Before applying, please review the FAQs for eligibility criteria, admission criteria and scoring and additional requirements before beginning the major.
Complete the Application
To apply, download, print and complete the application to begin the nursing major (fillable Word document) for Spring 2018. The application form must be completed using a PC. If you are a qualified RCTC applicant, you must first apply to Winona State University and submit official transcripts. Applicants for admission must be declared as nursing candidates (PNUG or PNGE) as of the application due date.
Sign the Readiness Checklist
Your application must also include a completed and signed Application Readiness Checklist (Excel). The Application Readiness Checklist opens as an Excel file. It is designed to be completed on the computer. Print out the completed checklist, sign, attach and submit with your Application for Admission. You do not need to print the checklist in color.
Identify Program of Study
When applying, you must indicate a plan for completing any remaining prerequisite courses in the natural and social sciences prior to starting the nursing major. When applying for spring semester, all prerequisites must be completed by the end of fall semester. All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
Submit Prior to Application Deadline
Applications for Spring 2018 will be due in the Nursing Department office (Stark 303) no later than 4pm on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017. Applications received after this date and time will not be accepted.

A Nursing Application and TEAS Question and Answer Session will be offered on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 4pm in Pasteur 337.
Take the ATI TEAS Test
All applicants to the Pre-Licensure Nursing program must complete the ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS). Only students planning to apply for the Oct. 2, 2017 deadline to begin the nursing major in spring semester 2018 should take the ATI TEAS in Sept. 2017. The ATI TEAS may be taken only once and should be taken the semester of application to the major. Students are responsible for the cost of testing. Test fees are not refundable.

The ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS) will be offered at Winona State University on:

The ATI TEAS is a multiple choice test taken on a computer. ATI TEAS has sections on reading, mathematics, science, and English and language usage. Be sure to bring your laptop and power cord.
