WSU Tau Conference Center Invites Community to Open House |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Winona State University invites all Winona community members and
businesses to the Tau Conference Center Open House Thursday, Dec. 9, from 2-7
p.m. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. followed by a few
words from WSU President Darrell Krueger and Dr. Christine Barajas, associate
vice president of academic affairs. Visitors will be able to take a tour of the newly renovated facility and
meet the staff who are responsible for scheduling and catering. The Tau
Center first opened in 1964 as a residence for the Franciscan Sisters of
Rochester. In 1973, the space was opened as a retreat and conference center
and provided a meeting place for people of all faiths and backgrounds. In 2002, WSU purchased the building from the Franciscan Sisters and opened
the building to more than 110 WSU students participating in the Residential
College program. Shortly after, work began on renovating and updating the
eight meeting spaces which are suitable for retreats, meetings, banquets,
luncheons and conferences. The Tau Center is located at 511 Hilbert St. For more information, contact Jenny Lamberson, at 507-474-3900. |
