The National Broadcasting Society at Winona State University has closed their tsunami account at Merchants Bank.
Through fundraising efforts, the chapter raised a total of $1,358.68 for the victims of the tsunami in South Asia.
All of the money raised will be transferred from the account to the Rotary Club. The Rotary Club will then match the amount of money the chapter raised, and directly disperse it in Sri Lanka.
“This gesture by the Winona State chapter demonstrates a mark of excellence and commitment because it exemplifies the chapter’s commitment to doing things which are more meaningful than just winning awards,” said chapter advisor, Dr. Daniel. “As a human being, I like that."
The chapter is conducting more fundraising activities of this kind in the future.
