IWC Strategic Goals 2013-2016
Goal 1: Integration of University Wellness Initiatives
Objective: Foster a campus culture of integration through collaboration between Fitness/Wellness, Intramurals, Health & Wellness Services, Counseling & Wellness Services as well as additional Student Life & Development departments and Academics
- Strategy 1: Seek diverse representation on feasibility and planning teams
- Strategy 2: Invitation to participate in Fall and Spring semester Team Wellness meetings
- Strategy 3: Identify common goals and similar programs between departments; streamline efforts when appropriate
Objective: Collaborate with community entities such as, but not limited to, Winona Health, Live Well Winona, Minnesota State College Southeast Technical and Saint Mary's University of Minnesota
- Strategy 1: Co-host annual wellness fair
- Strategy 2: Co-host annual wellness conference
- Strategy 3: Participate in outreach opportunities
- Strategy 4: Explore the expansion of existing and creation of new partnerships
Objective: Collect needs assessment data
- Strategy 1: Gather existing data from collaborators
- Strategy 2: Benchmark comparable university facilities and programs
- Strategy 3: Conduct annual survey to students, faculty and staff
- Strategy 4: Establish Team Wellness as a faculty and staff advisory group
Objective: Be a resource to the local community
- Strategy 1: Provide outreach upon request and as appropriate to surrounding community
Objective: Reach a broad and diverse audience
- Strategy 1: Focus on under served populations and create a welcoming environment for all
Goal 2: Evaluate Effectiveness of Customer Service, Programs and Services Provided
Objective: Gather metrics and data; report findings
- Strategy 1: Collect metrics related to number of members, number of interactions
- Strategy 2: Collect survey data for each program using standard paper and web-based surveys
- Strategy 3: Collect customer service metrics using web-based survey
- Strategy 4: Collect stages of change data using Personal Wellness Inventory
Goal 3: Sound Facility Management Practices
Objective: Ensure upkeep of IWC
- Strategy 1: Provide checklists of shift responsibilities to Facilities Services
- Strategy 2: Assign student employees with basic cleaning responsibilities
- Strategy 3: Frequent communication with Facilities Services
- Strategy 4: Refinement of repair and replacement plan
Goal 4: Continuous Development and Training
Objective: Increase expertise of IWC professional staff
- Strategy 1: Professional staff encouraged to seek continuing education opportunities
Goal 5: Gain WSU National/International Recognition for IWC and Integrated Wellness Efforts
Objective: Identify opportunities to speak or present at conferences, write articles, serve on commissions and apply for awards
