Directions to Winona State

Minneapolis/St. Paul

Take U.S. Highway 61 south into Winona. Stay on 61 until stoplight at Huff Street. Turn left on Huff. Then take a right onto Sarnia Street at stoplight. Turn left onto Main Street at four-way stop. Entrances to the Gold and Purple lots are on the left.

The west via I-90#Take I-90 east to Highway 43 north, exit 252. Turn left onto Highway 43, which brings you into Winona. At the stoplight, take a left onto Highway 43N (Homer Road) and go to the stoplight. Turn left onto Highway 14/61. Follow 61 until stoplight at Huff Street. Turn right onto Huff, then right onto Sarnia Street at stoplight. Turn left onto Main Street at four-way stop. Entrances to the Gold and Purple lots are on the left.

*Temporary Highway Construction#If you are driving to Winona on I- 90 West, heading east:  Part of Winona exit 252 is closed at this time.   Please use the Rushford exit 249 and take a left turn.  At the stop sign, turn right onto County Highway 12.  This road parallels I-90 and will connect you to Hwy 43 north into Winona.##

La Crosse, Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago#

Take I-90 west to La Crosse and into Minnesota. Take the “To Winona” exit on U.S. Highway 61 and follow into Winona. Stay on 61 until stoplight at Huff Street. Turn right at Huff; then take a right onto Sarnia Street at stoplight. Turn left onto Main Street at four-way stop. Entrances to the Gold and Purple lots are on the left.

Rochester, Owatonna and Mankato

via Highway 14#Take U.S. Highway 14 east into Winona. Turn right on U.S. Highway 14/61. Follow 61 until stoplight at Huff Street. Turn left at Huff; then take a right onto Sarnia Street at stoplight. New Center Hall

 

Cost per night $20

New Center Hall is a suite-style residence hall, offering 4-bedroom suites with single occupancy rooms.  The New Center is the newest residence hall at WSU, recently opened in August of 2010.  Each suite has a semi-private shower room and bathroom along with a two sink vanity in the hallway of the suite.  New Center Hall, The New Center bedrooms are furnished with a desk, desk chair, junior loft single twin bed, dresser, and closet.  The New Center residence hall is air conditioned.

Linen service is included in the quote. Therefore, each participant will receive one pillow, one blanket, two sheets, one pillow case, two towels, and one washcloth. For groups staying for one week or longer, a linen exchange can be arranged.  Rooms are cleaned prior to a group's arrival.   A courtesy phone is available near each front desk area for local calls and toll-free calls.

Front Desk Services

Each residence hall has a front desk that can be open during hours specified by each group. The desk is staffed by friendly and professional camp and conference staff who are current WSU students.
They can help guests:
v Check in and check out at designated times
v Exchange linen if staying one week or longer
v Obtain general information about the campus and the Winona area
v Pick up and return room keys
v Report maintenance and other room inconveniences
v Retrieve messages and mail
v Check out sporting equipment, movies, and/or cooking equipment to be used during their stay with us

Other Amenities Available

Each WSU residence hall has vending machines, a central laundry room, kitchens and/or kitchenettes, lounges, and access to a sand volleyball court.  The New Center hall has a fully equipped and handicap accessible kitchen located on each floor.

Handicap accessible suites are available upon requests and needs. 

Tobacco-Free Environment

Winona State University’s Tobacco-Free Environment Policy prohibits smoking and smokeless tobacco usage in all campus buildings, campus buildings and on all University grounds. This consists of academic and administrative buildings, the student union, and all residence halls including private rooms and campus owned apartments. Smoking and the use of smokeless tobacco is prohibited on all university properties, including outdoor athletic facilities. The sale of tobacco products on campus is prohibited, as well as the free distribution of tobacco products on campus, including fraternities and sororities.  Smoking/smokeless tobacco usage includes all tobacco products, such as the carrying of a lighted cigarette, cigar or pipe; the use of other lighted smoking materials; and/or the use of any smokeless tobacco products such as chewing tobacco snuff, smokeless pouches or other forms of loose leaf tobacco. WSU’s Tobacco-Free Policy is available upon request.

Alcohol-Free Environment

Possession and/or consumption of alcohol on state property is prohibited in accordance with Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) guidelines. Alcohol will be disposed of when confiscated.
