- Established
in 1922 as Winona State University’s first student newspaper, the
Winonan is managed, funded and operated by and for members of the WSU
community. Published and distributed weekly, the 5,000-circulation
newspaper investigates and reports campus and community news that is
timely, appropriate and relevant to readers. Information is disseminated
in a manner compliant with the universal journalistic creed that
information be delivered lawfully, objectively, tastefully and fairly.
- The Winonan generates 65 percent of its budget through advertising
sales. The remaining 35 percent is provided through student activities
fees. Subscriptions for persons outside the university are available from
the Advertising/Business Manager.
