Winona State University’s Office of Outreach and Continuing Education hosts a luncheon with Keith McFarland, author of “The Breakthrough Company: How Everyday Companies Become Extraordinary Performers” Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 12 noon at the Tau Center Rotunda, Winona State’s West Campus.
McFarland is founder of McFarland Strategy Partners.
He has experience as a chief executive officer, consultant and university dean.
He has worked with Nivo International, Collectech Systems Inc. and Pepperdine University.
He also worked as a consultant in a variety of industries including information technology, financial services, aerospace, training and education, and healthcare.
The Breakthrough Company pinpoints how everyday companies become extraordinary, showing that luck is a negotiable factor.
McFarland points out that breakthrough success turns out to be associated with a clearly identifiable set of strategies and skills that anyone in any business can emulate – from small startup to industry leader.
Narrowing down a study pool of more than 7,000 companies down to nine that have made the transition to major-player status,
McFarland highlights real-world tools and myth-busting insights that can be used by anyone wanting his or her business to join this exclusive circle.
Featured companies include Winona-based Fastenal, as well as ADTRAN, Chico’s FAS, Express Personnel, Intuit, Paychex, Polaris, SAS and The Staubach Company.
A book sale and signing take place immediately after the luncheon.
Pre-registration is encouraged, as seating is limited. Ticket cost is $15.
