Winona State University Office of University Advancement announces Mary Rohrer as new major gift director beginning Jan. 23.
Rohrer has been with the Girl Scouts of Riverland Council since 1977. In her tenure the Girls Scouts conducted three capital campaigns, instituted annual and planned giving programs, and established a Gold and Silver awards program to recognize corporate donors. She is also experienced in strategic planning, grant writing and event planning.
Rohrer earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Biology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and is currently working on her master’s degree.
She has won several awards including the National Society of Fund Raising Executives 1993 Outstanding Professional Fund Raiser, YWCA Outstanding Professional Young Woman award, and the Distinguished Honor Award – WI Division of Vocational Rehabilitation for Employment of the Disabled.
Rohrer served as Chair of Wisconsin’s Work Force Development Board Youth Advisory Council, Chair of the United Way Member Agency Council, Founding Board Member of World Peace Foundation, and Director and Chair of Community Credit Union.
