A warning from Winona Parks & Recreation

The fields are all too wet to use right now with ice in many areas. The frost is still in the ground and grass needs to be given a chance to start growing.
Please stay off all soccer, softball, baseball, rugby fields, etc. especially the Bambenek Fields at the Lake and Gabrych Park fields until further notice. he weather has been fluctuating too much from cold to warm, rain to snow, and the grass hasn’t begun to take hold.
The fields are in constant demand during the spring, summer and fall, and are stressed enough. Please do not add to that stress by using them prematurely.
When fields are dry enough and can be used, we will let you know. Then you can stop in the Park & Rec. office in City Hall to make reservations.
