The Lyceum Committee, the Women's and Gender Studies program, the WILL program, and the Residential College program sponsor a presentation by Karen Armstrong, Thursday, April 20, 7 p.m., Somsen Auditorium.Armstrong discusses her most recent book, The Great Transformation: The Beginning of Our Religious Tradition, and the history of fundamentalism in Christianity, Judaism and Islam.
Armstrong is a scholar, author, former Roman Catholic Nun and instructor at London's Leo Baeck College for the Training of Rabbis. She is author of The History of God, The Battle for God, Jerusalem: One City, Three Faiths; Islam: A Short History, Buddha, Muhammad: A Prophet For Our Time and The Spiral Staircase.
WILL students are invited to a reception with Karen Armstrong before her talk on Thurs, April 20. The reception will be from 5-6:30 pm, in the Lourdes Hall Cafeteria (enter main doors and go down stairs at right).
A question and answer session will be held earlier, 2-3:30 p.m., at The Book Shelf, 619 Huff St. This event is free and open to the public.
