I. Call to order at 3:37 Pm by chair Miertschin
II. Adoption of agenda. Adopted by consensus
III. Minutes of February 27, 2002 were approved with the following changes noted by the chair: Under VII. A. Strike "USP withdrew recommendation A above." and add to X. Meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
IV. Chair’s report
A. Senate’s approval of WSU Regulation 3-4.
Regulation 3-4 Policy was approved with the following change under Process for Accomplishing Curricular Change, D. 5. The last sentence was changed to "If
conflicts between university units are not resolved to the subcommittee’s
satisfaction, the proposal will be postponed until resolved."

V. General Education Substitutions
A. Mike Bergler - Humanities waiver (2/3 credit short). M/S
Miller/Hokanson to
approve. Motion passed.
B. Substitutions for SPED 400.
M/S Lewis/Miller to approve the following: All future general education substitution requests concerning the substitution of SPED 400 Education of the Exceptional Child (3 SH) from WSU for SPED 200 Human Exceptionality (3 SH), a Different Culture gen. ed. will be approved by the Registrar’s Office.
VI. Course and Program Proposal Subcommittee (CPPS) report. CPPS chair
recommends approval of the following.
A. New Course
1. AIS 452 - Management Training and Development Programs
B. New Program
1. AIS - Training and Development Certificate Program
C. Revised Programs
1. B.S. Major - Physics, Teaching
A2C2 approved courses and programs.
VII. University Studies Subcommittee (USS) report. USS chair recommends
approval of the following.
A. USP Courses
A2C2 approved courses and CMST 191waiving policy.
VIII .Old Business
A. Appeals Policy and Procedures for the University Studies Program
1. Student appeals of WSU University Studies Program (USP) policies
regarding course credit will be made to the University Studies Subcommittee (USS) for review and recommendation to A2C2.
M/S Miller/Boseker to un-table motion from February 27, 2002. Motion is to strike USS and replace it with A2C2 in Item A. Motion failed.
In 4, USS recommended that "memorandum to the Registrar" be deleted and where necessary replaced with "notification to A2C2." Motion to approve Appeal Policy and Procedures for the University Studies Program with changes noted passed.
IX. New Business
A. MNTC
M/S Williams and Boseker to approve the following: A2C2 seeks clarification on the requirements for
compliance with the MN Transfer Curriculum from the state with respect to transfer students. The current question concerns whether the MNTC will be
accepted on an area-by-area basis OR on a complete-curriculum-only basis. Motion
passed.

1. CHEM 436 Topics in Environmental Chemistry course description change
Old This course covers advanced topics in environmental chemistry. Topics studied will depend upon the interest of the class and
may include topics such as acid rain, environmental estrogens, bioaccumulation, and ozone depletion. Prerequisite Chemistry 320. Offered
yearly.
New This course covers advanced topics in environmental
chemistry. Topics studied will depend upon the interest of the class and may include topics such as acid rain, endocrine disruption, risk assessment, global warming, and bioaccumulation. Prerequisite
Chemistry 320 or permission of instructor. Offered every other year.
